The 2007 Season began with many returnees from the 2006 Team. Under the guidance of Head Coach Derrick Coleman, and Assistant Coach Darnell Richardson, the 2007 STA Raiders began the season with victories over defending champion St. Margaret and long time rival, Holy Angels.
Victories over St. Ailbe, Luther South, St. Elizabeth, Washington Park (CIC) and Emanuel Christian followed. The regular season ended at 7-0, in First Place, undefeated!
The playoffs began with a game against rival Holy Angels. STA played its best game of the season and won by the score 32-0. Next was the Championship Game, against previous champion St. Margaret.
On Saturday morning, November 3rd in a hard-fought game STA won the Catholic League Flag Football Championship in overtime 26-20! A joyous celebration followed that included Coaches, Team Members, Parents, Teachers and our Principal, Ms. Murphy.
While we do honor our All Stars from the team, Derrick Coleman, Evan Acklin and Adama Moye, it took the contribution of every team member to win the championship.
