Dear STA Community,
THANK YOU for your support this year! While we have had to continue to stay distant, we are grateful to feel your support, and pray that you and your family are doing well.
This year has presented many challenges to St. Thomas the Apostle School students. Our mission to “lead, challenge and encourage God’s Children in Extraordinary Variety,” has never been more important. Over the past eight months, STA students have faced the challenges of remote learning, the passing of STA’s beloved office manager, Mrs. Peeples, heightened tensions around policing in the wake of George Floyd’s death, and the loss of loved ones due to COVID-19.
STA has worked to be a source of stability and comfort in this challenging time. Staying connected to their friends and teachers, even virtually, has been one constant on which students could rely. Teachers have not only provided their students with academic support, but they have also provided them with necessary social emotional support. We must continue providing a rigorous, supportive, faith-based education, and to do so, we need your support.
How can you support the students and teachers of St. Thomas the Apostle School today?
Please make a gift to the Reach for the STArs Annual Fund today. Your gift will directly benefit the children and teachers of St. Thomas the Apostle School by providing much needed scholarships to families and important resources for teachers, as they continue working to support both in-person and e-learning students this year. Reach for the STArs FAQ
Who will participate? All STA parents and over 1,000 alumni, parishioners, friends, and community members will receive a mailing from STA in early November. You are all invited to ask other family members and friends to support STA by making a donation to Reach for the STArs. You should also ask your employer if they have a matching gift program! All are invited to help support STA!
When does this take place? November 5th – December 1st (Giving Tuesday). While we will focus on promoting this appeal during the month of November and early December, you are invited to make your gift at the time that is best for you. We also invite you to consider making a recurring monthly gift to help provide dependable monthly support to STA throughout the year!
What are we raising money for? A gift made to St. Thomas in support of Reach for the STArs will directly impact STA’s students and teachers. A portion of the funds will provide students with scholarships. Currently, 50% of STA students receive a scholarship and most families would not be able to enroll their students without some form of financial assistance. In addition, the funds will support our excellent teachers. Your gift will allow us to honor the commitment of our teachers to Catholic education, support leadership opportunities and provide resources they need to provide both in-person and e-learning instruction.
What has Reach for the STArs funded in previous years? Thanks to your support, STA has been able to grow and provide more resources for students each year including:
Classroom iPads for grades K-3
Google Chromebooks for grades 4-8
STA’s playground
Student scholarships
LED lights in the school gym
Numerous repairs to our over 130 year old building
Teacher retention program

Checks made payable to St. Thomas the Apostle School. Use the reply envelope from the mailing you receive to mail your check to St. Thomas.
Social Media – Last year, you helped us raise over $7,000 for STA by creating your own Facebook and/or Instagram fundraisers! Thank you! We encourage our whole community to do so again this month! Directions for how to do so are outlined below:
