STArry Night has been a successful benefit for St. Thomas the Apostle for six years. The first STArry Night was April 18, 2015. Each year, the event has grown, just as the school’s enrollment has grown, and it has served as an important community-building event. Each year, school parents, parishioners and friends from across Chicago have come together to support the students of STA.
In 2020, STArry Night quickly transformed into a virtual fundraiser, and we are proud to report that our net income was over $8,000 more in 2020 than in 2019. STArry Night has provided the STA community with the opportunity to recognize the extraordinary programs that we offer our children, the committed teachers who build learning centered safe spaces in their classrooms – now, both in-person and virtually - and the extraordinary children themselves.
STArry Night has raised over $185,000 for the students of St. Thomas the Apostle School in its first six years. Through this event, over 30 sponsors have been able to support our extraordinary school.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT STARRY NIGHT?
There are many ways to support STArry Night!
1. Register to attend the virtual program on April 24, 2021 on the STArry Night website.
2. Are you or your business interested in being an event sponsor? Reach out to Mrs. Howard, STA's Director of Advancement to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.
3. Make a donation! You can make your donation through the STArry Night website. All donations will directly benefit the children of St. Thomas the Apostle School.
Each month, the students at St. Thomas the Apostle study and practice an important virtue including responsibility, gratitude, empathy or integrity. This part of the curriculum is beloved by students and parents alike, and has become an important unifying element this school year as students are learning both in the school building and virtually. St. Thomas the Apostle School is proud to offer a curriculum that educates the whole child - academically, spiritually and emotionally. This year's "VIRTUE-AL" STArry Night program will highlight the important role learning about the virtues has on their education, in addition to the many virtuous moments we have all experienced during this challenging year.
It is only fitting that we partner with Virtue Restaurant & Bar on 53rd St. in Hyde Park to provide your meal to enjoy during the program presentation. Preliminary information on the partnership is outlined below.
The "VIRTUE-AL" STArry Night program will be broadcast on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 6:00-7:00 pm. It is free to register and watch the program. The link to complete registration is below. You must register in advance to view the program.
The evening will feature remarks from young alumni, current students, and other community members, entertainment from some of STA's current students, and a paddle raise. Proceeds from the "VIRTUE-AL" STArry Night will directly benefit the students at St. Thomas the Apostle School.
SUPPORT THE SMALL BUSINESSES THAT SUPPORT STA
It has been a difficult year for the many small and local businesses that support STA and have made donations to the STArry Night silent auction in years prior. Below is a list of the small and local businesses that have invested in our mission with links to their websites. These small and local businesses have been there for us when we needed their support. Now, it is our turn to be there for them. Given the challenges the pandemic has brought, it seemed most appropriate not to ask them for donations to a silent auction at this time. We know the silent auction has been a popular way for many to support STA and participate in STArry Night in previous years, and we want to bring it back in 2022. St. Thomas plans to continue to share the ways our community can support these small and local businesses right now and encourage you to patronize them when shopping, dining, etc. We are all in this together! We, again, thank these small and local businesses for being there for STA!
